The AFS Costa Rica School Year Program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to live with a Costa Rican host family, be part of a community and attend classes at a local high school.

Each student will be placed with a host family and usually in a public high school. All AFS students are expected to attend school on a regular basis, to complete all work assigned both in class and outside of class and show continuous effort throughout the year to work to their fullest potential.

Language Needed On Arrival: Basic Spanish

Accepted for the 2023-24 school year are students born 14 July 2006 to 14 July 2008.
