All placements for this program are in the French speaking province of Quebec, where you will learn this beautiful language with a North American touch with your French speaking host family. All schools are French schools offering a variety of subjects. Lovers of nature, lakes, forests and the great outdoors will be charmed by the diversity of Quebec’s landscapes, which changes as the seasons come and go. Discovering or rediscovering winter will be a pleasure for everyone, from ice skating to night skiing, from snow shoeing to ice fishing, you will be amazed by the multitude of possibilities that winter offers. Many placements are in the suburbs or country-side, but wherever you live, there are always festivals and activities to brighten your weekends, whatever the season, even when it is freezing during the winter!
Our hospitable and close-knit families will welcome you as the newest member. Canadian families can be as culturally diverse as our multicultural population. Each family will share their values and habits with great pride, pleasure and generosity. Please be aware that we have many non traditional host families (single parent, same sex couples, double placements,…)
You will most certainly attend a welcoming school where you will be able to create your own social network, meeting new friends, joining sports teams and after school clubs. You will celebrate new steps in your life, such as graduation, prom night or award ceremonies.
Language Level needed upon arrival: Having a knowledge of French upon arrival will be extremely beneficial to participants and their integration.
